Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
When I started cutting, I wondered if it real worked, if it helped you feel. I did it because I was depressed and numb. I couldn't cry, I wasn feeling anything. It was a personal choice- AT FIRST. (Just as any other addiction starts) but then the needs came and I couldn't stop. I loved the release, I felt better without going to a therapist. However I also stopped myself without professional help, but father threats from a cousin who threatened to help me and checked my wrist each day to make sure I hadn't restarted cutting.
Triggers cause a relapse, as with any addiction relapses happen, they're a part of life as much as healing, but if you blame the addict they feel worthless and give up
Anyone with an addiction can place blame or be blamed. But the first step of recovery is often acknowledging that it's your problem and that you need to "own" your actions. That's what I'm trying to talk about here.
