i know how you feel. i feel like if i told my parents they'd think they'd failed me or something. and maybe i kinda feel that way. but mostly i don't want them to worry about me. i won't tell them because i know they can't help me, but if you're in a position that you have good relationship with your parents, and you think they'd be able to help, don't let your misgivings get in the way of you getting help. let your parents help you, it's what they're there for. that's just my opinion. do what you feel is right. if there's someone else you can get help from, and you feel like that would be a better option, do that. think about it a lot before you make your final decision. good luck, i hope things turn out well!

I'd have to agree with halfwolven. I never told my paretns, but when I was in 8th grade a girl on my soccer team saw my cuts when we were changing for a game and ratted me out to the school counsler, so of course she told my mom. It didn't go over so well, she kicked me out to go live with my dad. My mom is a very difficult person tho and I don't know how your parents will react. If you trust them and feel that they can help you then I completely think you should tell them. Just be aware of what can happen if you do tell them, my mother tried to have my commited before she kicked me out. I don't know your situation or how or why you cut but if there is someone you can trust then please ask them. I never had that, I'm 21 now and although I haven't cut since last May, I think about it everyday. I never has someone to trust with my secret tho. Sorry Kinda went on a tangent there. OOps.
