The only thing I expereanced is being sedated and put into a suicide watch room. the room was pretty much stripped, stuff bolted down and cameras to keep a watch on me. Also have had a staff member escort me where ever I went, including the bathroom. Plus I have been commited by the courts to stay till I was stabilized and on meds. Hope this helps.

I told a therapist about my SH...she didn't say anything about locking me up. She asked if it was suicidal or if it was SH, I wasn't suicidal so there wasn't anything she could really do. I'm also 25 though. I'm not sure about when you are younger. However, from experiences a friend had, they don't lock you up. It would be more like going to a hospital. You get a bed, no sharp objects.

yes they can put u in these hospitals if they find u a danger to yourself or others around you and why ur in the hospitals they only lock you up if you are a danger to yourself or others around you and they put you in a room that is patted and locked so u can cool off for a bit or they but u in something that just lays you flat on the floor and holds you down but you have do something realy outragers in order for them to do this if you have any qustions ask me i grew up in places like that from age 10-18 and they are not as bad as people make them seem if u need the help get it good luck to u

I would flip I am clostraphobic... as long as a door is open I can stay in small rooms, but if a door is closed it doesn't matter the size I flip out... so I hope that isn't true :P

If you are considered a real danger to yourself or others, they could section you,but they normally only do this if they believe you are suicidal,in the 20 years that I've been self harming I've never been sectioned, and even if you do get sectioned, they don't lock you up.
