As I have lost a lost of weight in the past month and because I have a very white skin tone, most of the blood vessels in my inner arm are very visible. I imagine the amount of blood I could et if I cut there although I'm aware of the danger. I know how difficult it is for someone to die from cutting either intentionally or not but when I feel suicidal I lool at my arm, the way the veins and artheries are so clear and it all seems so easy.
My own body triggers me in a very graphic way, has someone else gone through this? What did you do?

that's very worrisome; this is just a temporary solution since it seems it's a visual trigger for you; maybe get yourself a couple of arm sleeves u can wear; they generally go from wrist all the way up to bicep area; wear those until you feel it's not triggering you anymore to look that closely to the veins/arteries.

I used to self injure myself when I was a teen. Was dealing with a psychologically , emotionally abusive stepdad and sexual abuse from a neighbor. I literally filled a bathtub and had blood everywhere in it. Actually I was trying to kill myself several times and thankfully didn't succeed. When I look at my left arm now its a memory of a difficult time and where I've come out of. I'm here for a reason and so today I decided I would get a tattoo to commemorate my rise from the ashes of heartache. Give yourself good things in your life to think of.The things that make you want to live.

I got a tattoo today and would recommend that over hurting yourself. It relived any feeling of wanting to hurt myself in a safe way.

that's what I used with my last tattoo; it did keep the urges away for over 18 yrs

I have also heard that tattoos are helpful. I use drinking sometimes instead but I would not recommend that.

ja drinking just gives u another problem rather than helping fix the original

Im struggling right now with the urge to cut ao I cant be a good advice giver right now but I know exactly what you are talking about. The last few times I cut I fantasized and was triggered by my veins and wanting to cut deep. I was scared of accidentally cutying too bad and having a fatal result so tthat fear was enough to keep me from trying it and to get more intense help. Im so sorry you are going through this right now. I know the feeling and I know you can fight through it. its been 4 years since I cut last and I really dont want to relapse.
