I'm freaking out... Yesterday my parents saw my scars. One by one they randomly entered my room and asked me "what marks do you have on your arm?! Let me see it!". The cuts I have now are deeper than ever.I showed them, gave them my pre-maked story. When they asked "are you sure it was...?" 35 more times I added a few more details so I think they believed me. However, I'm scared they are gonna find out what they really are when my psychologist tells them I have depression and need a psychiatrist next week. (Yeah, they finding out would be "that bad", I've posted about this several times but is basically them thinking SI is the same thing as suicide attempt, depression is not real unless you have a f***ed-up life which I don't, and hating the mentally ill... yeah, they don't react well).
Today I didn't want to leave my room, I don't want to deal with people... But my brother and her wife are coming over for lunch. I just don't want to deal with them right now. I feel like I'm about to break down... I'm sad, anxious and kindda suicidal. I know I probably shouldn't give myself more scars in my arm at least till things cool down a lil bit. I don't want my family to get suspicious again. But I already bruised my head, scratched/gave small cuts on my chest and stomach, starved myself (my ED is another way to hurt myself, I think I deserve being unhealthy or whatever), choked myself, etc. I beated myself up yesterday as well. Nothing... Distractions just won't work, I can't talk to anyone without panicking. I'm currently sitting on the bathroom floor hugging my legs and staring at a wall trying not to explode. But I'm too close to doing it, I need to put myself together quickly, before people come over to lunch.
Sorry this is so long, I'm desperate.

hey calm down. we are here for you. sometimes letting them know is better than hiding it. they probably won't understand unless they went through it themselves. you sound like your in pretty deep. you to tell them before it gets so bad that it could kill you. because if it does it will look like suicide. and that wouldn't be good. just tell them. and talk too us if you ever need help.

I'm sorry you're struggling, i know how hard it is. My mom used to have a really hard time understanding my SI and that it isn't a suicide attempt but after many years she at least tries to understand now. I think it's just really hard for people to understand who haven't done it themselves or experiences mental illness. Feel free to message me if you need to talk (:

I know how you feel, like you just want to hide from things and not have to deal with them. Whenever I tried that I never ended up anywhere good, so be strong, don't worry about your parents. It's their job to worry and care about you, and they're just trying their best using what they know. Maybe your brother going over with his wife can be a good thing, maybe q time to talk with a different family member and see id they might understand. Good luck and don't forget we're always here.
