I think once you start you can stop. But i don't think SI is something that can go away for good.
An alcoholic will always be an alcoholic, it's one day at a time. It's just another way of coping that we go back to when we need it.
With the help of your therapist you'll figure it out. There's always a trigger even if we can't see it straight away.
