Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.

I started cutting when I was 12, I"m 50. I don't voluntarily cut any longer, but my brain developed a lovely habit of "Amnesiac Dreamstates with Self Injuring Behavior" meaning I cut in my sleep when I have certain Nightmares. Because that's how my brain got used to dealing with the problems. Its not so fun waking up in a pool of blood with a knife or scissors or pen sticking out of your arm or leg and not knowing what the hell happened. 47 stitches was the worst, the last time was 3 months ago it was only 12 stitches. And I never remember what happened, hence the "amnesiac" part.
Self-Injury is a far more complicated Behavior than people think, it's not something you want to start, because it is not something that is in anyway easy to stop. Once you get far into it, it can be easier to detox from Heroin that Self Injury.
