I have been self-injuring for almost 18 years now, have been to many support groups, day treatments, and SAFE Alternatives twice. Question: what brings you back to SI again and again?

if your asking why you keep going back then my answer is that you found something that lets you vent. other ppl use eating or runnig or w.e its a way yo deal with things. even after you have stopped if becomes really hard to go adn find a different way to vent and cope with things. you have gotten used to it and its familiar. so therfore its soo easy to keep goin gback.

I have been SIing for 11 almost 12 years now and it seems every time I think I have begun to controll it it comes back. I frankly am about ready to say screw counlors screw support groups screw every thing. Part of me thinks I am gonna forever be an SIer and why the hell bother. I also want to beat this but it seems near imposible. In the past yr have been thru 4 counslors have a new one curently said somthin that made me want to tune him out.

^^^^^ dont say just screw it. even if you keep falling back and going back to it, your still winning. if you can beat it and get control of it even for a little while, its sucess. im gunna assume its a big part of you life. so just stopping hardly ever works forever or the first time. just dont give up. dont think of it as youve gone blah blah days w.o SIing and then u did it but think of it as youve only SI this amount of times in this amount of time. dont give up just look for the piositives

What brings me back is that it works ...short-term. I'm not endorsing it as a solution to anything at all....but it definately makes me feel better for a little bit.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
