Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
You've done a great job already giving your razor away. Celebrate that win! Celebrate every 10 minutes that you make it through without relapsing. If you're at the end of yourself and you know you can't make it through the hour without self-harming, set a timer for ten minutes first. Even if you still end up cutting, you'll have continued to build your fight muscles.
Could you talk about these feelings with whoever it was that you gave your razor to? It's normal to feel regret right after taking a step like that. You might even crave cutting more than ever once you've taken the option away. Hang in there, it gets easier. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but easier is coming. You're in a battle for your life and right now you're winning. I know it doesn't feel that way right now... and I'm sorry. This sucks.
If you find yourself making plans for suicide, please don't wait until you're "bad enough" to go to the emergency room. Or if you can't imagine making it to the hospital, tell a friend or call the national suicide crisis line: 1-800-273-8255.
You're not alone. And you're stronger than you know.
