Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
Could you really stop it, if you wanted? Could you say to yourself "I will never do this again" and keep to it? I used to think that I could. But, I came to realize that there is no freedom, no choice, when it became an addiction.
I confessed to myself, and everyone here, that I am addicted to cutting. The way I got into recovery was because the person I love the most in the world kissed my wrist, because he'd seen what I have done to them. And every time I want to cut? I think of the kisses on my wrists, and I don't have it in me, to cut them away.
Perhaps having your children's names tattooed there will help, or something that symbolically represents them. Something to remind you that you are loved, and you have people you love.
Just one thing that might help, before getting a tattoo? The blood that you spill when you cut? That blood is in your children's veins, too. If you would never spill their blood, then why watch the blood that gives them life, trickle away?
I wish you the best! (:
