I feel like such a hypocrite! I am a teacher that works with students with emotional needs. It is my job to convince them that they need to learn appropriate coping methods. However, I haven't really found that many myself, and I engage in the very thing that I try to keep them from doing. I wish I could take my own advice. It has been almost 8 months since my last cutting incident. But still I feel horrible.
Does this make me a terrible person or what.

no. it makes you HUMAN. you are trying to help those who are younger and who might not be as strong as you are emotionally. it doesn't make you a bad person at all. you just have to start working on some things to help you, and maybe that'll even give you some ideas on how to better help some of your students. just keep your chin up hun

You are not a hypocrite in any way. You are trying to save them before they hit the point that everyone here has hit. I try to do the same thing by mentoring some younger people from my HS. I tell only a select few, who are on the brink of being where I was when I started, about my struggles so hopefully they won't hit this point. By doing what you are doing you are saving lives and healing people. That is one of the best things you can do in my opinion. Keep going and fighting. You are probably one of the best examples they have whether they know it or not. Stay strong. You are doing great things and that will only continue

HUGS! You are not a hypocrite, or a terrible person. I struggle with a lot of stuff, and I'm studying to be an early childhood educator right now. I think that people like us who understand pain are best suited to helping others deal with their own issues and teaching them to cope. Keep up the good work! :)

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
