From what I understand you have found a way out of that evil cult. Now you are marked from being involved in the past. There is something curious about scares. They are a permanent marking that shows the world a road way to our pasts traumas. They prove to the world that you are a surviver. They do not define you as an embarrassment to society, but they define you as being courageous and wise to be able to break the ties you had with this cult.
The only reason I can say this is because I too was a victim of self destructive behaviors due to satanic ritual abuse. I have cut, burned, and did unspeakable things to myself . In my case the more I did to myself the less they would inflict pain to me. I am in a struggle right now working on these issues. However, when I told a friend how much I despised the markings on my body he asked why. He said they symbolize the victory that you are a surviver. Now when Im asked about my scares I simply say they are scares of a traumatic time in my life. If they ask I will tell them about it. If they do not ask about it I leave it as is. However, I was surprised how many people would ask and the impact on them was not one of repulse, but of respect.
Sorry this was so long. but as complicated, intense and mind washing ritual abuse is the longer it takes to process. This is my experience and I hope you can glean some support from it.
God bless you!

It is true that what is on your skin has nothing to do with who you are. You are so much more than those scars and burn marks.
Reminding yourself that you are more than your scars can possibly help you feel better. I'm so hoping you won't hurt yourself. Please stay strong.
