My bf looked through my diary, and saw my "gloomy" entrys. and so the next day we were at my house and he asked to see my arm. i showed him my right arm, and he nodded. then he asked to see my other arm and i said no. and so he gave me a look, and then grabbed my arm (gentley) and looked up at my face. after a few minites of just looking at each other, he started to pull my sleeve up. and he saw all my scars from the past. and now he treats me like im gonna break everytime he holds me. and he always asks me if im okay (which im not) and he'll ask me why i started, what i used, how often. all the quetions that he wants cuz i always tell him. but ive been wondering what to do?! hes the first person in my life to see them. please help

besides breaking your trust by overstepping your boundries by reading your diary, he actually sounds like a true caring guy and wants you to come to him before you cut and i'm also getting that maybe he wants you to talk to him about what burdens you so that you can "lean" on him when times are bad...if i were you i'd try my best to forgive him from reading my diary, it wont be heasy ,i'd probably be furious for awhile and not want to trust him...once i was over that ,i think i'd open up to him about why i do the things i do, i'd just be sure to tell him i am unable to make any "pacts" about stopping because i'm just not ready to give this way of self soothing up as of yet...id tell him to please stop treating me with kid gloves and stop walking on egg shells around me...id make sure he knew how much i care for him but if i dont feel like sharing, i'd tell him just that, but if i do want to slowly open up id tell him how hard it is to talk about but i'd try to...i hope this helps (((hugs)))

The fact is that he is there for you. Other stories that I have heard is the boyfriend finds evidence of girlfriend cutting and he leaves without saying anything. Since he is there for you and knows about you cutting and is willing to help, that is a big plus to someone that you want close by. Now the trick is opening up to him. This is the hardest thing for me to do is open up and tell people about my cutting. Since he cares for you and wants to know how you are doing, you have to let im and tell him how it really is.

This may be very hard for you, It sounds like It Is. I hated when people looked at my arm, family and friends. Keep In mind that he cares about you and you are Important, not only to him but to a lot of others. Be honest with him and answer his questions, but only If your comfortable with It. Sometimes It can be a good thing to talk about It. If you aren't okay with talking about It, don't. He should understand If you tell him you aren't ready to talk about It. I wish you the best of luck, I don't tell my bf a lot of things sometimes and he Is okay with It. Remember he cares

I agree with everything that was said thus far, you are very fortunate to have a guy that cares, that is very rare but when you find someone that is accepting of you, I think you should lean on him, because he cares and that's a good thing. Just let him know that you are not a porcelain doll that will break easily, and that you will talk to him when you feel comfortable about it, but sometimes you might not want to talk about it, and that he should be willing to accept that. Our scars symbolizes survival, don't feel ashamed, because you are not alone in this battle and that is the best thing about cutting, it's a well known addiction, and many women and men bear the same scars.
