Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
I know how you feel, the urges to cut are really hard to ignore and sometimes it can get seriously out of control. My advise would be to throw out whatever you cut yourself with, and stay away from sharp objects that you would think of harming yourself with, and avoid things that may trigger (yes, I am very aware of how tough it'll be to do that but it's a great way to start off). Try to learn something new, such as taking up an instrument. I found that when I'm angry I usually just play the shit out of my guitar, and it really helps me cope a lot. It's a good, healthy way to deal with depression, anxiety etc. Or if your artistic, take the way you feel and just put it into a picture in your head and give it a crack if you know what I mean :). You could even try going for a run/walk or just turn up your music so loud that you'll piss off the whole neighbourhood (that is if you live in one).
I hope some of these things will help you start off, and try setting a goal for yourself, say you pledge that you will not cut for three weeks, and once those three weeks without cutting are over you can start setting bigger goals.
Lot's of love and I wish you the best of luck, Megan xoxo
You can beat this :) You have so much potential and I believe you can do this :)))
