i feel really ripped off an pushed under the carpet by the nz medical people.iv had back trouble since i was 13 and had all sorts of stuff done to try to help.short bouts of traction,physio and a brace tho no one ever mentioned the word scoliosis.i ditched the brace when i found painkillers.i thought i was in heaven.i do very hard physical labour and with my back still being sore i was sent to a specialist about 15 years ago.i truly could not understand the xray i was being shown and was even more bummed when the specialist told me to learn to live with it.and that was it,no follow up,not an xray since.i am now on 300mgs of tramadole a day whitch i hate and after a bowel bleed am still taking ibprofen wen i hav 2.sleep is awful,i just hurt and turn over and over.im so tired and angry.is this normal treatment?am i overeacting?

You must realize that scoliosis tx has changed allot in the last 15 years.... and all orthopedists do not have that knowledge and skill...those drs. pick the body part they are comfortable with. My suggestion is to be proactive .... search for dr. who specializes in scoliosis. Make sure a standing x-ray is taken where the total spine is in the picture. Good luck.

hi terri anne, are you taking a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprozole to line and protect your stomach from the long term use of tramadol/diclofenic (ibruprofen), and no your not making a fuss get a 2nd opinion and ask about surgical options (x ray/mri scan) :-)

thanku people.no i am not taking a proton pump do daky thingy,lol.and i will ask for a standing xray,tho they layd me down last time.

I have had much of the same issues with the diagnosis of my scoliosis. I am also frustrated, BUT I am educating myself so that I do not have to accept the "learn to live with it" attitude that some of the doctors have. They have this attitude bc only 2-3% of people with scoliosis have curves as servere as ours. Get as many opinions as you can!!! I have gone online and found a doctor that specialized in the care of scoliosis. I HOPE IT WORKS!!! GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY. Chin up :)

I have personally witnessed scoliosis dramatically improve through a technique few people are aware of. It's very simple, easy, YOU treat yourself, essentially free and the effects are unbelievable. I'll give you all the information free. I just want to help people suffering needlessly and considering horrible and expensive surgery.

I'm not selling anything here, just trying to empower people to solve their own medical issues and spread the word about incredible treatments.
