Ive had rods since middle school and now Im 37.
I see a chiropractor 4 times a month for $59 at the join chiropractic in the U.S
I have a massage once a month or twice at Hand and Stone Massage where I have a membership.
I'm on Baclofen for day time and Cyclobezapr for night time.
I buy epsom salts from Epsoak Sport Epsom Salt for athletes off amazon.
I take daily baths in that to ease my pain before I go get a massage.
I have a nutritionist. Ask your medical insurance if you get anything free.
I get 26 nutritionist visits so I have an office call me over the phone for my appointments. The nutritionist tells me what to eat. To get free services you have to get the reference number of your call so when your doctors office calls for coverage you have a number for them to tell the people they speak with.
I need to reduce my weight. They say that the smaller you are the less symptoms you might have with scoliosis.
My family doesn't understand my pain either. I stopped telling them because they didn't understand my situation was permanent.
If anyone want to chat please email me.
I even did acupuncture with the electrical needles and it works but you have
to go so often. I even bought a tens unit and it helped some as well.
I learned when I exercise I use an arch trainer cyber machine at a gym I pay $100.00 a month to attend. As long as I exercise and don't let my feet touch the ground that helps because its no impact on my spine.
I’m so glad to have found this place
BUT I’m SO very very sorry to hear that so many people are suffering from broken Harrington rod pain.
I was a passenger
in a car wreck
It broke my back.
I had a spinal fusion and Harrington rods. Put in my back.
I think its the L5 area.
22 years ago the back pain became SO much worse than it was every day since the wreck/surgery I finally went to an Urgent Care type of place...
You should have seen the Drs face when he saw my X-ray...
My X-ray looks like pick up sticks were just tossed into my back...the rods have literally broken away from original placement and the
nuts and bolts
are literally just tossed all over my back
I TOTALLY understand what you mean about tiring your family...
I feel the same way...
I just hate telling them that I can’t do something because of the pain
I had the tens unit too...
And like you it helped for awhile....
Honey I don’t want to discourage you but I used to weigh 280lbs... I had several seizures in 2018 and almost died 2-3 times...
I was intubated and on a feeding tube and in a coma for almost 5 weeks...since then I have a lot of problems throwing up and with nausea...
I’m down to 120 lbs...
And unfortunately losing the weight didn’t help me.
I had dozens of Drs tell me thru the years if I lost weight...it would help with my pain too....
Unfortunately...my pain is worse than its ever been and I’ve lost almost 160 pounds!
So when you have metal displaced in your back... and its in a very tender place of your body...because the spine IS a part of your central nervous system...I’m not a dr but I’m thinking being overweight is just not the reason your in pain...
BUT maybe it will help you...every one is different...I surely hope it helps you
