Have been having strange pains for a months now, Wondering if anyone has had same problems. I have felt as though i am leaning forward for some time now..am now having neck pain and shortness of breath, Feels like i can't get a deep breath. Lots of pain in upper back also. This has really started to wear me down! I am fused from upper back to S-1. Also having pain and spasm in hip area that is making walking very hard,which is a real problem since i work full time. Need to find a doctor that knows about adult scoliosis as my doctor moved away years ago and i don't think most doctors have a clue about the problems we have. Any ideas? I feel as if i am the only person with such strange problems and hate to even tell a doctor about it! HELP!!

Hi voodoo princess--are you saying you are fused from the Cervical Discs to the Sacrial(sp) Disc's? If so that is your entire spine--fused. I am having major problems with my double scoliosis as well and I can't get to see the top notch specialist in the area until October 29--seems like a life time away, but any way, I am having alot of pressure/pain/weakness/knumbness on my hips and legs and my GP thinks it's because I have alot of deterioration going on within the curves. She also thinks that I am twisting which is causing my right ribs to turn inward to my organs.
Have you been told if you have any deterioration going on within the fusion?

Hi sowle! Thanks for the input. To answer your question, i am fused from L2 to S1 with a rod down each side of spine and lots of other hardware. I haven't been checked by a specialist in years. Last x-ray did show some degenerative changes. This problem with not being able to get deep breath is making me crazy! Haven't had this much of a problem with it since before my surgery as my left ribs were putting pressure on lung. Who is the top notch specialist in your area? What hospital does he work from? I need to find a new specialist and get appointment. Looking for someone in Cleveland, Ohio area as i live in N.E. Ohio and that is the biggest and best area. Can't believe there are so few adult scoliosis specialists out there! Good luck to you at your appointment. Wish you the best!

I live in NE Ohio as well, and I have had a heck of a time finding a specialist. I actually called the MD that did my surgery as a child to see if they can recommend anyone. I am fused from T2 to L4, and I have been having signifigant pain issues for some time now.

Hi,everything I'm reading sounds like me,I had surgery in 2002, I need revision surgery I went to see Dr. K. Kebaish in Johns Hopkins. The Dr. who did scoliosis surgry sent me to Dr. K, he feels that is the best place to go.I never though I would need a second scoliosis surgery, and there are not many Dr. that do revision.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
