Sciatica Support Group
Sciatica is a term meaning pain that originates from compression of the sciatic nerve, the longest and largest nerve in the body. If the sciatic nerve is pinched or compressed (perhaps by a bulging disc in the low back) a patient may experience leg pain--the classic symptom of sciatica.

Sorry you are in pain.
Your description is called pira forma syndrome.
You can google "Pira forma stretches" and I am sure thet will help you a lot.
Also having a firm bed is good, but since you are experiencing pain - you might consider addding a memory foam topper to help your body recover at night. Also put a pillow under your knees to take stress off the lower back.
Ice the butt area 15 minutes on and 2 hours off - should help a lot.
hope these suggestions help you some.
oh aleve with tylenol is better for this problem.
hugs, Raoul
If it IS sciatica, you have to be careful from now on because once you've had sciatica, it's much easier to get it again. You shouldn't lift heavy objects, be careful not to fall, etc. I've had it for 26 years and I know the pain you're in. God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee
Thank you both for your reply, I still have the pain that is on my right buttock and travels through my thigh/part of leg. I had seen my medical doctor and gave me pain meds..but have not used them. I supposed to go for xrays..but I firmly believe its sciatica..which I done research on and also one of my cousins told me the same things, which she gets both on her butt.
I will use and do the ice treatment and see if that helps. Again,,Thank you.
YOu are right it is sciatica but the you need to know that sciatica is a symptom and not a diagnosis. Hence sciatica can be caused by a bulging disc, ruptured disc, piriformis syndrome etc.
As your back doesnt hurt it really sounds like piriformis syndrome. Luckily its rather easy to control a few simple stretches will help, they can be found on youtube.
Also Im assuming Aleve is Naproxen. Word of caution don't use it regularly cause it will lead to intestinal bleeding ( notice dark brown stools?). Ask your doctor for PPI in accordance with Aleve it mitigate the bleeding. Hope your sister and mother are fine :)
KEEP WALKING BACK AND FORTH THAT SHOULD HELP.
I HEARD MASSAGE THERAPY IS HELPFUL ALSO.
