Hello, first of all I've missed hearing from all of you, including friends. These last two months and beginnning of April have been busy and stressful for me. My Schizophrenia symptoms have been bothersome. I have been experiencing a few delusional thought patterns and occassional auditory and visual hallucinations. Today and for awhile, I was having problems getting along with my dad and brother, they are lately, saying negative things about me or ignoring me when I ask them questions or comment on things such as noticing my psychiatrists handwriting(cursive) for the first time and saying that I like his handwriting and my dad saying Oh, you really think so? As in thinking what I have to say is not important or doesn't matter. My brother, saying things that make me feel like I'm not good enough or he will always better than me.It's just very frustrating to be around them. It makes me feel angry and sad.
Another type of thinking I've had is that when I have the windows open in my bedroom that people are watching me, particulary neighbors or strangers that walk by. Even, if I have the windows closed for example when dressing at night, I still feel paranoid. It's an uncomfortable, crazy feeling. It's like feeling unsafe all the time.The visual hallucinations have been seeing bright flashes of colors when I have my eyes half closed and seeing shadowy shapes at nighttime.
These visual hallucinations very much scare me. Yet I know they are not real and I try not to focus on them, no matter how bad they are.
I went to see my psychiatrist this last week. He took off of 25 mg Zyprexa and put me on a newer medication called Saphris with a 5mg dose. So far, I've had less of the color visual hallucinations. Still have some of paranoia about neighbors and strangers watching me in my bedroom. They were very prominent with the Zyprexa, but has been less now with the Saphris.
Anyways, lastly, to be more on the positive side, I celebrated my birthday on February 29th, with my family. Yes, I have that rare, Leapyear birthday. I went out to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory, an Italian Restraunt. The restraunt had beautifal stained glass art windows and fine art paintings. It had one unique dining area that was in the shape of an old train car. No, I did not sit in the train car dining area.
Instead, I sat in a booth on the lst level. They had 2 levels of dining area.
The waitress, who had an outgoing and very kind, respectful personality. I believe her name was Paulena. She was going to a small, art college called the Gage Academy, which she told me had some very good artists there. She said that she was studying Visual Communication. It was the same degree, that I was studying at an art college not far from the restraunt, a block or two,called The International Academy Of Design And Technology two to two and a half years before I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia.
Anyways, I miss college alot. I had a wonderful time and a funny thing that happaned is that there were three other people celebrating Leapyear Birthdays as well, what a coincidence! I am hoping very much that the Saphris will continue helping me feel better soon. I just want to wish everyone a lovely April and a Happy Spring Too!

i think the best thing you could do is write out all the symptoms you've described above, and tell them to you psychiatrist. nip them in the bud before they develop a life of their own.

Sorry to hear you arent doing so well. Take it in strides is what Ive learned from the "allstars" in this , they are wise. Welcome back and stay in touch.
