Schizophrenia is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental disorder characterized by impairments in the perception of reality and by significant social dysfunction. Untreated schizophrenia is typically characterized by demonstrating disorganized thinking and experiencing delusions or auditory hallucinations.

Creating a peaceful, positive environment, no stress at all, is important. It can take a while to find the right cocktail of medication. About 25 percent of people don't respond to them. I have heard of using a new magnetic treatment...not a holistic thing, a mainstream thing being done in Israel. It is an alternative to shock therapy, and appears to have had some good results, without any side effects that I am aware of. I first heard of it in a documentary called Dolphin Boy (I know, it is a lame name) that was very interesting, about a boy who suffered a terrible case of disassociation after a traumatic event.
bottom line is he has to make up his mind to get serious about it until they find out what works for him .... also smoking and drinking or drugs will only make his condition worse .... and a good diet too really helps
i take 5htp, omega 3-6-9, b complex, and eat a minimum of 8 servings of fruit/veggies a day. i also do a cleanse with white sage often.

Each time was due to med noncompliance. I take them as prescribed now. Krill Oil is the best fish oil I've ever used and has a longer shelf life.

Nutrition, exercise, meditation, socialization and recreation daily.
It's doable.
