added trilafon and traded xanax for clonopin

Today I went to my pdoc about the shadow people poisoning me and the depression and anxiety I was having certainly came through. I was sobbing into my hands and just shaking and out of it. I lost two pounds from last Monday and he sturnly said that was not good and that I am now too skinny. I have a tough diet that I need to stick to due to multiple food allergies so it has always been hard finding food to eat BUT the shadow people are poisoning my food...I DO NOT WANT TO EAT! After I do eat I can feel the poison and get even more anxious that I am going to die like right now. So I went to the pharmacy to get both the trilafon and clonopin, excited and with a tiny bit of hope now. Well the trilafon in a 40 miles radius is on back order so I can't get it for a few days and was so agitated...I could have punched the pharm tech. But got the klonopin and went to IHOP to try to adhere to the promise to my pdoc that I will eat dinner even if I feel sick and like death after. YEA I threw up on the way home because I felt so nausous from the anxiety of being poisoned. But then I got home all sad and just freaking out and took my puppy out on the lanai and I relaxed and played with her and took a klonopin. An hour later, I was still hallucinating and delusional but my anxiety is sooo much better and my depression is a little better. I have hope that I may be able to leave the house tomorrow and take a shower. And maybe eat two little meals. Those are my goals. I think once I can start the trilafon things will be so much better hopefully.

Yeah, Trilifon is an old conventional antipsychotic so it might be harder to get as it is not prescribed much anymore. I too take klonopin and could not function without it because of my anxiety. So I hope that helps you.

Also, trust me, I know it is hard because I am a stranger, but trust me nobody is poisoning your food. That is a paranoid delusion, a part of your illness. I am sure many sz'ers have had that same delusion. You need to force yourself to eat. I eat two small meals a day and that seems to work for me. Find a schedule that works for you and make sure you get enough food everyday. Your meds work better if you are eating.

I hope you feel better once you get the Trilifon.

The trilafon didn't help but I moved in with my sister and she is encouraging me to eat a little more. I see my pdoc again on Monday. The klonopin helps with the anxiety but makes me almost fall asleep at the wheel...if I cut the dose in half it doesn't help with the anxiety...

How did your pdoc appt go?

I ended up going to the psych hospital for 11 days.
Changed my meds.
Tried clozaril but it made my heart race above 160.
So I am on a combo of zyprexa and trilafon and abilify
Got out of the hospital today and saw my regular pdoc and he decreased my abilify and increased zyprexa.
Idk.
I feel a lot better. Safer and happier but not quite the stability I am looking for...

Glad you are back. Be patient with yourself about not acquiring the exact stability you want. If you feel better focus on that. It is a really good thing. Sometime it just takes time.Hopefully the new meds/doses will work out. If not there are still a bunch of other meds you can try. I am sorry the clozaril didn't work right.

So sorry you are going through this. i just hope the doc realizes that a your diet (and my diet, incidentally) don't mean you will lose wieght. I am so over wieght and am not eating the foods you don't eat. glad you are feeling more stable. diet or no diet, you were feeling poisened was a separate issue, no??

I read once that fish oil and pyschosis (and hallucinations) were related. one woman i read about said that it was the only thing that stopped them. another took meds and fish oil.

to be clear, I am not advocating stopping any meds (people sometimes freak when I mention the wheat and dairy free diet helping moods and they think I am saying stop meds there, too)
I am saying that I read that one lady did stop, others didn't

also, the type of fish oil is critical. high quality is necessary. many docs suggest krill oil

Just read that. Thank you. I was taking fish oil and vitamin d daily as well as a multivitamin but when I moved I stopped. I think I will start again if there is not an interaction.

Ok, maybe this will be a breath of fresh air to you...or maybe you will hate me for saying this....but the fact that you are posting on a board for people with a psychotic disorder, and you say you are delusional, kind of negates the whole idea of you ACTUALLY being psychotic. I am a mental health therapist, AND I deal with schizoaffective disorder. I understand you may have crippling anxiety, but as I said before, if you can say you are delusional, you clearly are not. I have worked with many many patients who's illness was more of a personality disorder, who could tell me that they were "paranoid", but that it was really a learned behavior, rather than a chemical imbalance. On the flipside, I have worked with many truly floridly psychotic patients, who would NEVER accept that they were ill, until the medication worked and then symptoms subsided. By definition, the term psychosis means YOU DO NOT HAVE INSIGHT. If you have insight, you may be suffering from something, most definitely, but you are not delusional. Hopefully this doesn't hurt your feelings. Also it is highly unusual that if you truly believed shadow people were trying to poison you, that you would tell someone like a mental health professional...perhaps a close friend or relative...but not someone who could chalk it up to symptoms in the DSM. I hope you are in therapy, because that would probably help you more so than the meds. Although I do strongly believe in medication.
