Schizophrenia is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental disorder characterized by impairments in the perception of reality and by significant social dysfunction. Untreated schizophrenia is typically characterized by demonstrating disorganized thinking and experiencing delusions or auditory hallucinations.
I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia but I was originally diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. My mood swings were very 'active' today - and as I tried to do some work that would improve my life today - the moods took over in a big way. The illness humbles me and keeps me in check with the reality I have now. In so many words I am not sure if I can aspire to ever master the illness and move on to self support again. RIght now, I do feel some reasonability about the whole thing, so Yes, I do feel I can aspire, but this is after a day of difficulty. It was just a very up and down day. Just tough.

However, mastering the illness to me is maintaining a treatment team (psychologist, psychiatrist, friends and family and daily activities).
Be gentle with yourself. We all have our up/down days that gets in the way of work.

if its any help ...lol ...i struggle everyday...it gets old real fast... and im just forced to fight it by getting on with my life ...
no sense just lying around worrying about it ...
its like quick sand...the harder you try to struggle ? the deeper you get ...and sometimes just relaxing and keeping still or doing nothing at all seems to keep my head above ground...so i guess what im saying is ..
