Just got back home from my Remicade infusion. I told my rheumy that the last two days I have felt much better. After going over my last labs, he decided not to increase my dose right now because all my tests show improvement and inflammation right now within the "normal" range. That means the medicine is doing something good for me even though I am still having problems with swelling (cankles you know). He did tell me that I need to go back on the Naproxen for my hands and to increase my Vitamin D.

All in all, a good report. I am so happy that the Remicade is beginning to work. Maybe the swelling will stop soon.

No to prednisone. I am diabetic and my rheumy is really stingy with the prednisone because it raises blood sugars. Prednisone burst is a rare treat he allows me when I have suffered long enough. Lol. I have had the swelling and pain in my feet and ankles almost every day for the last 2 years. Along with swollen finger joints, shoulder joints, elbows, etc, etc, etc. But today, all pain is at an acceptable level. Life is good.

Contratulations on your doctor's visit and feeling happy! How long have you been on remicade and what were you on before? May have to look at that if Cimzia does not work out. Fearful of remicade because they have trouble finding my veins.

Wendy, I've been on Remicade since the end of July of this year. Before that, just MTX, Naproxen, the usual. No biologics before Remicade. I think I'm a fairly easy stick and we have the best infusion nurses.
