i have been on xeljanz now almost 4 months. at first it helped a lot with the pain and fatigue but now both are back. fatigue is so bad i can hardly make get out of bed in the mornings. also have gained about 10 pounds since starting this medication in march. i haven't altered eating habits and couldn't exercise at all before (could hardly move without feeling like i was going to pass out from pure exhaustion) so i have to contribute the weight gain to the xeljanz. RA sucks. i am so sick of this freaking disease and the tole it's taken on my life... physically, emotionally and financially. i'm applying for disability this month. i'm no longer able to continue working my part time job... again totally sucks.

doc putting me on orencia next. wonder what i have to look forward to with this new medication as everything i tried thus far has failed and caused weight gain. i'm now 50 pounds heavier in 4 years since i got this dreaded disease .. it's awful. at this rate i'm going to be morbidly obese trying before it's all over with.... the descriptions i've read of RA always talk about weight loss but every account i've read of a real person that actually has RA seems to always mention weight gain since disease onset. maybe the health care professionals should take a look at redefining RA because not only do joints hurt but it every organ in my body suffers from inflammaton... my eyes, my eye lids, heart, lungs, you name it.... i hate this disease.
