Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...

my knees are not a constant bother, and so far my elbows seem to have been spared. my jaw comes and goes as well, and i think either it bothers my neck or something in my lower neck is joining in the fun. just about every joint snaps, crackles, and pops whenever i move.
perhaps the most frightening/upsetting/nauseating one to me is i guess my very low back, it feels almost like my butt - i guess my coccyx has a joint at the top, whatever that is called. when i move, stretch, get up, sit down, twist, turn, whatever - sometimes something down there pops in a way that radiates. it's not painful per se, but it's a very uncomfortable feeling and being that it seems to be related in some way to my spine it scares the hell out of me.
Hands, feet, neck & lower back (SI joint)Then it's what decides to join in on that particular day.
Much like you Steph my bum actually hurts. It will interfer with walking when it's at it's worst. If I fall a sleep sitting I'll get stuck then the knee will freeze. My family is always lecturing me about siting at night in my chair. As I'll fall a sleep & get stuck.
That's usually the first signs I'm heading towards a flare.
Who'd have thought the bum could hurt so bad.
Mines part spinal & yes it scares me. I have no clue what's going on in the neck or lower back.
Frustrating!

This morning it was my left elbow joint. Often it is my feet and sometimes it is my hands, During my last bad flare where it invaded the base of my thumb, I was the whiniest person in the room. I can be fairly stoic about a lot of pain, but as a piano, player, I am the world's biggest wiener about hand pain.
I just never know from day to day which is going to hurt or which is going to spasm, or which is going to twitch............
If I am flaring my spine and my Socratic nerve. I get cortisone shots, and they last for a good while.
The Socratic nerve in spine is the one that kills me. So far the cortisone shots in that area will last a year.
Linda =)
My hands are a constant source of pain. I get sacroiliac pains that stops me cold. One shoulder is a nightmare right now, making sleep hard. Knees and hips are no fun. The worst though, when they act up, are my elbows. that takes the cake for not knowing how often you rely on them until they go south.
