I've been careful with my diet since diagnosis and figuring out that night shades are a trigger for me. I've noticed that the so called "seedless" watermelon does irritate me.

Additionally, considering the time of the year and all the good stuff coming from the garden, other things that bring me pain in addition to the normally discussed nightshades (white potato, tomato, pimento, red & green pepper, eggplant) are cucumbers, okra and peaches.

No food triggers flares for me! I have some minor food allergies, but they don't affect my RA.p, more my asthma.

Watermelon is the same family as cucumbers, zucchinis, squash and pumpkins. You might want to see how you react to those foods.

I'm with Marlene again. When my meds are working, nothing triggers a flare - only stopping my meds. When I'm off meds - as when I have an infection and have to stop - nothing helps until I'm back on my meds.

BUT...each of us has to trust our own bodies and instincts.

I just had a sever flare up. When I seen the post about watermelon I was shocked. Then when I thought about it, i had made a fruit salad and was eating watermelon while cutting it up. Then I had a veggie pizza with bell peppers on it. I also eat alot of tomatoes. I have cut it all out and going on 2 weeks now without a flare. I'm hoping that is what triggered it but just don't know. But I do feel a lot better

Potato's for me. Espeically those ever addicting fresh salted McDonalds fries I grew up with! Uhhgg, I miss them but they definitely cause minor flares for me the next day. I still get them on occassion though.
