Hi Kimberly97. I know of what you speak. The past three days have been extraordinarily difficult for me. I have been sitting talking with Mamabluedogs2 and we realized that the RA may be older than we thought and I am speeding to catch up. Really a punk time. Lots of things seem to be going south. Am going to see my DO in the morning to see if I can get a nuclear MRI next week. Had one in November and surgery the next day. I feel like I may be headed that way again. Sorry to blab all over you post but I do understand - now to see if it can be fixed or at least slowed down

Kimberley - as usual, I'm right there with ya, hon! I'm 42 years old and feel like I'm in the body of an 80 year old -- or older, because frankly my mom is 75 and runs around and works in her yard and does all kinds of "hard labor" kind of housework (putting all new floor covering on all her balconies, for example). She's 75, for cripes sake, seriously?!

I saw a very senior citizen riding a bike the other day. Lots of seniors in my neighborhood - and as I drive around I see them working in their yards, power walking, etc etc. I'm jealous, LOL.

But it does give me hope - b/c who knows what they've been through? My mom had a serious back problem about 5 years ago that incapacitated her til she had surgery - and now you'd never know it.

AND best of all I learned that one of my older neighbors has RA and had it pretty badly for awhile and now is mostly in remission on Remicade (she's one of the ones always working in her yard, lol).

OK so let's both look at the bright side and know that our real age and RA will "catch up" LOL.

I know exactly what you mean!
Can't plant flowers this year my feet are terrible so my dear sister is coming over to garden for me. I would have never thought at 46 I couldn't do yard work :(

Good question...People ask me all the time how I'm gonna be when I'm 50 if I'm already this bad in my 30's. I always answer. 90 LOL

One more thought on the age thing -- by the time our peers are older and starting to hurt and complain - we'll be absolute PROs at it already!

Scarlett, I know what you mean about seeing elders do yardwork etc. I remember once I saw a neighbor just bend down and pull a weed and I almost cried. To do that simple thing needs so much planning for me, to be able to do it spontaniously just hit me for some reason that day.

Bluedog, I hope you get relief soon. What type of surgery will you have?
