Finally made a decision that I have been battling since my semester started in January. With all my doctor appoitments while trying to figure out why I was so sick, not then the doctor appoitments after diagnosis and this fog I have been in lately , I have finally decided to drop my one class. I have missed school and can't seem to think straight, I can't afford to take a leave from work right now, and I have two classes that I am doing alright in but really struggling with the other, so finally decided I took on too much, and I am dropping the one class, focusing more of the other classes to bring up my grade. I am bummed because the program I am suppossed to start in the fall only starts once a year and I need this class completed. I didn't want this RA and lupus to control my life, but I think I have made the right decision and will hopefully be allowed to complete the class over the summer, if not I have set my graduation back by one year, but at least I wil still graduate! Hope I made the right choice...sorry if I am rambling but my thoughts right now are racing!

I think you have made the right decision. Your health is the most important thing right now. I was teaching full-time, going to graduate school, and taking care of my family all at once. It almost did me in. I did finish my Master's degree, but it was a diffiult two years. I would never be able to do that now. You can probably pick up the credits you need over the summer. What is your degree in? I hope you will feel better with less stress. :)

Never worry about rambling... You are expressing yourself and we must do that to remain SANE!!!

I think you made a very wise decision to drop your class. And, if you have to you can start your next program a year later than you originally wanted to. Education will always be there to hop on the train with. What life has taught me is there is no need to hurry... a day sooner, or a day later, a year sooner, or a year later... it is just time... I have a BA, an MA and 4 teaching credentials. Trust me, health comes FIRST and I have great faith that you will get to where you want to be... :)

I agree, never worry about rambling. I am in school as well online full time and working full time with RA full time. You have to do what you can. Your health is more important and if it is easier for you to focus on one class then one class it may have to be. Hope that you do well in school and are feeling better real soon.

Thanks for all the responses guys!! I really appreciate it! I actually have a degree in psychology, but have changed my career path and am now a pre-nursing student. I am due to start the program in september, but with working full time school full time and kids full time I needed one class less, so another time, I will get there eventually!!

Sounds like you've got a full plate! I can't keep my laundry clean:) Do what you need to do to take care of yourself, and don't feel bad about it, your health comes first. Sending prayers your way. God Bless!

I am a big believer in taking care of ourselves allows us to do more in the long run. Well done for making such a hard decision!
