I feel better two days after my enbrel shot but never pain free.
I too don't know what to expect. Humira did nothing I'm on my 16th week of enbrel and I feel the same "am i waiting for a miracle and to be pain free?"
How many weeks are you on?
Xo MLC.
I was told when I started Enbrel that I would be hiking in six months. This was almost two years ago. I will not be able to ever hike again, I can see my joints continue deforming. I am much better than I was two years ago, but I am disappointed because my hopes where so high.
It seems to me that sometimes those of us with severe RA lump ourselves in with everyone else. I try to remind myself that the drugs probably won't work as well on me as it might on someone with milder RA.
For me, Enbrel meant 2-3 hours of morning stiffness, instead of 5+. It meant getting to go to the grocery store and not having to put my feet up for two hours when I got home. I can plan little things that I can do the next day, instead of planning to do nothing. It means most days I can spend a bit of time on my feet and not end up paying for it for the next two days. It means, just maybe, with a prednisone burst, I can go on a vacation this year and not have to spend most of my time in a wheelchair.
Do I hope for more? Heck yeah!! I want a miracle too. But looking at where I am now and where I was two years ago... I'll take it!
