So I'm in Texas visiting my daughter and today is my last day here and I'm having the worst flare. I really feel like I have the flu but with major anxiety. My hands hurt pretty bad too. My daughter and I went to a big water park yesterday and we had a blast but today I'm paying for it! I hate when I feel like this. I feel so powerless over everything. I want to feel good when I see my daughter tonight. We've had a lot of issues and she's only 21 and doesn't really understand what I go through. Anyway, just needed to talk about it to someone who really understands. Thanks as always!

That stinks! So sorry you are in a falre. Seems like travel always triggers a flare for me. I was just thinking and wondering if it would be such a bad thing for your daughter to see a little of what you have to contend with on a daily basis. I hope you feel better soon and that you have a good visit with your daughter. Bessings, V

I know a few people here have shared in the past how they just don't talk about it to those who they know don't really undertand or have compassion. For me though, ignoring the way I limp and the difficulty doing certain things is like not introducing an elephant that is standing next to you. I would just wait for her to bring the subject of it up, tell her you are having a more than normal difficult day probably due to travel, but you don't want to dwell on it because you guys have so many other things to talk about. If she wants to know more, she will ask specific questions, and if not then you will know to change the subject. My daughter who is 22 doesn't understand the way I wish she would either, but empathy is not one of those traits you inherit, you have to acquire empathy because you want it for yourself. She is still young yet, so hopefully with maturity and prayers God will be able to help the relationship. Hugs, and thinking about you, Elizabeth

Sorry your going through this.

Did you go to schlitterbaan? Thats an awesome park and I love it. I havn't been able to go for a long time because of my RA.

I understand about the kids. It's hard.
I think I sheild mine way too much from it all, then wonder why they don't have more compassion. lol

I try to be strong for my family, but sometimes it's all so overwelming.
