tenosynovitis?

When I injured my wrist right before diagnosis, Mri showed tenosynovitis which is a hallmark RA issue, amongst other issues atop of the tfcc tear I have.

Woke Friday with a real problem, need opinions. I *think I have flexor carpi ulnaris tendonitis or tenosynovitis. My wrist, underside, at my ulna (pinky side) is so freaking sore. I can not touch it with any pressure without severe pain.it travels up my arm, under side, almost to my elbow! Tender, sore, pain. It's swollen, the arm that side. There's minor bruising along the tenderness and it's very veiny looking for lack of better term. Sound like tendonitis? Got an appt with pain mgt Tuesday and am contemplating asking for a steroid injection.

No injury. Only "over" use was Friday pushed a shopping cart for a short grocery trip. Did that honestly do all this?!

Does this sound like tendonitis or tenosynovitis? What's happened? It's awful and not better from yesterday.

About 10 years ago, I got tendonitis in my arm near the elbow from overuse typing. I typed nonstop 8-10 hours a day for my job. I had no symptoms that I could see, just felt the pain running from (almost) elbow to (almost) wrist. A simple tendonitis band placed just below the elbow did the trick. That said, it sounds like you have a LOT more going on than a simple tendonitis.

I sounds like people with RA and other inflammatory diseases can get flareups like this with much less overuse, so it may be possible it was pushing the shopping cart was the trigger. Who knows?

Jen, now my MRI makes sense to me! It reported tenosynovitis and multiple joint effusions in my foot. The foot doc told me that's why he was sending me to a rheumy, but I didn't understand why, so thank you for sharing this. I've had multiple bursitis episodes in my life and steroid injections helped every time. Now I'm thinking I've had this much longer than I thought. And, yes, bursitis is excruciating! I've been doing passive range of motion with my ankle because I've been losing range of motion at an alarming rate. I will definitely let you all know what happens at my March 21 appt!

Years ago I had tendonitis, tennis elbow and carpal tunnel. It got so bad that I couldn't even hold a cup of coffee (and I love my coffee!).
I finally had surgery and the relief was wonderful. I've heard that some people get it back even after the surgery but I never did. I was told it was an overuse injury that built up over the years. Now I wonder if it was the first sign of RA. That's also about the time I started getting bursitis. I'm sorry about your pain. I know how bad that can be.

So is this in fact similar to symptoms of tendonitis or bursitis? I am so unfamiliar with either symptoms.

Oh Jen, I'm so sorry you have all that involvement! This is such a scary disease.

LionPrincess, tendonitis is inflammation of a tendon. Bursitis is when the bursa (sac of water between joints) leaks and you get bone-on-bone pain. - very painful.
