Has anyone else experienced constant sound in their ears. It started recently and I'm wondering if it is a side effect of medication.

If it sounds like when you put a seashell next to your ear it Might be Tinnitus, though meds can cause too. R you on any new meds?

It could be tinnitus which can range from a soft sound to one which sounds like a jet plane taking off. The only way to check out what is causing the noise is to see an ENT specialist.

Good luck. I know just how dehabilitating this can be.

I have tinnitus and it's the worst thing that EVER happened to me. The emotionally mind game this plays on a person is absolute hell and believe me if you have a severe case, as I do, you cannot imagine the torment. I'd call your doctor immediately and pray hard that this is temporary and not 24/7 as mine is.

interesting I saw an article in Readers Digest about a woman who could hear her heartbeat in digestive sounds very loudly to the point of drowning out other noises. It turned out she had developed a hole in her inner ear.
Whatever this is I hope you see a Doctor and get it checked out. Good luck and keep us posted ok?
