Thursday I undergo surgery for endometrial cancer, I know the odds are in my favor for a good outcome and I have a fantastic supportive husband, but thinking about the possible bad outcomes along with the pain from going off my meds in preparation for the surgery has me stressed and fearful that I might end up in a flare on top of everything else!

Just asking everyone to send positive vibes my way to help me get through this stressful week!

SK8, I'm so sad you are facing surgery. Thank goodness the cancer was found, because, you're right, 'The odds are in you favor.' It will be good to have this behind you. Understandable that you are stressed. Have you considered short term use of Xanax to help with the anxiety?

Thanks everyone! Have a busy week trying to get things done before the surgery. Tomorrow is all the pre op stuff, Luckily my husband will be driving me because my wrists and shoulders are sore from going off meds.
I am looking forward to getting past this and on to my recovery!

Praying for a successful surgery, and that the RA doesn't flare too badly.

When I had surgery to get my foot reconstructed, the RA flares hurt worse than the cut up foot, with 6 pins 4" into the bones.

I hope the meds you are on last a long time. I will never go off meds again for surgery. I had a broken elbow in 2012, a broken wrist, full displacement in 2014.

I didn't go off for those breaks and fixes. Not sure what is behind going off for surgery, as it is surely the same. (I know,, healing!) But that is neither here nor there for you right now.

I do pray it will go well, and you will be cancer free!

Just an update... Surgery went well. Cancer was early stages so no further treatment! Now anxious to get released from the hospital! Thanks to everyone for there positive thoughts!

    I've been on high dose prednisone for pneumonia, and now I am slowly weaning. But lots of symptoms I don't like having, plus overeating has put at least 10 lbs on me. The food is "loud" as the GLP-1 users refer to it.Also pressured speech. Which comes out in my posts. Sorry I posted so much. I just need an outlet for my agitated and irritable brain.     I haven't been around in a long time. I am admin in a private group, and I would like to upgrade someone else to that position. I thought I knew how to do that, but the prompt has gone missing. Or is it not allowed to upgrade someone else to admin? I just find "ban and demote" under "Edit." I don't get notifications to DS anymore, but I wil come back in a few days to find out the answer.
