Oh dear, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. That is VERY stressful. The only thing that sort of works, is to pamper yourself. Allow yourself to acknowledge all your emotions, and complain about your RA flare that is just making everything worse!
I have not figured out how to fix those types of flares. Try and be very nice to yourself, get some rest.

Oh boy trust me RCross, I do understand exactly what you are going through. Death and the passing of a good friend, a friend, a relative, a loved one is very tough to deal with when you have RA. It can throw you in a flare in a hot minute where everything hurts including your heart. I know that painful feeling in both ways when my husband passed away. The same feeling comes back though not quite as intense and lengthy when I hear of death of someone who is close to me. Family or friend. I also get bad panic attacks when I hear of a person who I know or have known passes away.

I have to take pain medication to get on top of the pain. Otherwise it will be a full blown flare. See if the meds help that you may already have for pain. Try warm soothing bath with some lavender epsom salt. Grief counseling may help as well. I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a good friend is always difficult especially when it comes on suddenly.My deepest sympathies are with you.

I cannot begin to imagine the burden on your heart, and the resulting flare.....give yourself permission to grieve and cry and vent.....do anything you can to pamper yourself - I'd advise doing for yourself what you might do for someone you love deeply during a time of overwhelming sorrow and pain. Take that information and apply it to YOU. You are in my prayers....

RAcross , I am so very sorry for your loss , My Condolences . I do think that stress and heartache can bring on flares . I lost my mother in April of this year and it brought on severe pain and flares . Stress can do a lot of damage . I hope you are feeling better and in a better place emotionally remember the good times you had with your dear friend .
