A tip on prolonged episodes of vomitting (from someone who did it through two ENTIRE pregnancies...and no, I am never doing that again) use something stretchy, like knit pj pants (what I used) and wrap it around your rib area and hold it tight while vomitting, or dry heaves. It greatly helps the pain in the ribs from this (hopefully) unusual muscle use. I kept the pj pants by the toilet, and when I had to run, after the first vomitting, I would wrap the pj's around my ribs lightly, and then the next 4-5 heaves would hold it tight with each one. Hopefully no one will need to do this, but it does work.
