I had medication induced IBS while I was taking Yasmin (had already had my gall bladder out), still get the occasional bout due to not having a gall bladder (eating too much insoluble fiber, fried food) . . .
The forums at this site are SO helpful!
I was finally able to leave my home and actually eat away from home.

Their Tummy Tamers peppermint oil capsules are the best!
Initially I was taking a small amount every morning, before every meal and at bed time. You have to gradually work up to 2 tsp 4 times a day to avoid stressing your already angry GI tract.
They also make refill pouches, so you don't have to keep buying a container. Her cookbook is great too! I don't recc the "everything you need to know about ibs, but your doctor never told you . . . ." that they offer on their site.
In the mean time, peppermint tea helps with stomach cramps. Fennel helps with gas and bloating.
Avoid broccoli, lettuce, dairy, red meat, anything fried, melons, anything with seeds, etc. Make sure you include a soluble fiber source with every meal and in between.
Mango, peeled apples, rice without butter (initially, I couldn't even touch brown rice), toast with apple butter, etc. are soothing, bulk forming and less likely to be trigger foods.
hugs!
