hello dear all - angels have brought me my laptop to the hospital. i feel better in this third unit placement. (surgical/stepdown/medical)

the good news to put gratitude in front is that the left arm is working!!!! the extra present, the pneumonia,, lungs, are a work in progress. still in the hospital working on getting oxygen sats up probably going home with oxygen. and no longer in step down unit. in there my lungs just felt like shattered glass. i am approaching a better place. still on iv antibiotics.

as to the RA i am amazed at the 100 percent consummate brush off any mention of the no treatment brings (can't take anti inflammatories for 8 weeks can' take orencia for 8 weeks). how nice to know it falls so low to the bottom of the treatment schedule when faced with a triage even after getting stabilized.

the ensure does not come in Kale flavor.

last 3 times 'ole Bluedogs2 was in, when I told them I had auto immune "stuff" they put an arm band on me that said fall risk, shaved my head and gave me a gown with a southern exposure - a bit drafty I might add -

I tried to engage them in conversation but they would shake their head and murmur something like "leper"

Get well and get out - you need to get home to feel better

Oh Ros, I'm so sorry you have so much on your plate, but can't help but chuckle at your comments, along with those of Bluedog. You both have a talent for turning every thing into a smile for others. Here's how it's gonna go down: we'll make a run on the pharmacy. They'll assume we're there for the oxycontin and will throw bags of IV antibiotics at us to try to protect their stash. We'll pick up the bags and run down the stairs to the back entrance where the jazz trio will have spirited you out in the bag for the bass. Load up the van and get you home!

Altoclef, count me in!!! Ros, I hear ya about the mention of RA just going over the drs heads. I was inpatient in August with cardiac problems (they thought) even though Morphine wasnt touching the pain of the chest spasms. When the catherization came back clear they were baffled to where the pain was coming from so they said I could be released. I asked the 3 specialists could it be inflammation from the RA affecting my chest wall and they kept just having their eyes glaze over (i was still waiting to for first rheumie appt so I couldn't call her). So they kept up the morphine yet didn't even try Prednisone. So finally they agreed to let me go since we ruled out cardiac.
When I saw my rheumie at the first appt she said it was most likely inflammation from the RA causing the chest wall pain and they should have tried Prednisone instead of the Morphine that wasn't working ......

Oh Ros! That is awful. So sorry you are dealing with so much.

Please visualize all of your friends from Daily Strength piled up in a large yellow convertible Cadilac driving up to your hospital window and breaking you out of there. You are sliding down a rope made of hospital bed sheets tied together from your room right into the car! As the Caddy engine kicks into gear you yell something incredibly witty. The nurses hear this and rush ifrom their stations. They open the door and are relieved. They see you sleeping, the bedsheet up high and figure their dear patient must of been dreaming and talking in her sleep. . One nurse closes the window and the other nurse adds a blanket for warmth...when suddenly a bunch of quilted kale falls off the side of the bed. WTF? ...the nurse thinks to himself. Slowly, the nurse pulls down the bedsheet and blanket to find two pillows, a couple bunches of kale and a neck collar positioned to look like a body!!! Ros is gone!!!! The Caddy peels out as Ros and friends raise their RA canes high into the air and celebrate!!!
