Starting my injections sat. Had a patient education appt tomorrow, but being a 2 hr round trip drive, storms forecasted, and mom having a 40 min drive to my home to babysit, I called and asked for permission to read the instructions and just do it myself. The rheumatologist said ok. Well when we discussed the shots, I told her I heard they hurt with the pen. So I got the syringes. I'm starting out at 50 mg, and I received 25 mg syringes. So I'm giving myself 2 shots once weekly. Great*sarcasm*. Never shot myself with anything at home before beyond a finger prick, a little nervous.
The printout states
Leave out 15 or so minutes to come to room temperature.
Grab with one hand the skin, quickly thrust the syringe at a 45 degree angle (all the way in I'm assuming)
Release the skin and steady the needle base
Plunge
Remove
And repeat, since it's two shots.
Does this sound right? Advice? This better he worth it, that's all I have to say about this!

Sure not thinking about the patient if they wanted you to inject twice vs once because of syringe.
Now I used the Sureclick
Iced & left out for half hr.
It did cause some pain but I'd deal with that over RA pain.
I for one had sinus headaches after the Enbrel.
Some respiratory also but it helped me.
Just stopped working few months ago.
Kept something in the house for sinus. Drs said to keep Benadryl around just in case had any reactions.
