I thought I read here you can split mtx into am and pm dose is this easier on the tummy? Does it hurt or make it less effective to split it?

I've heard that's ok to do, but if you really want to give your stomach a break injectable MTX is the best way to go. I've been using it for a long time now and I have minimal side effects. : )

Switching to injections definitely helped me. I've had 4 injections and I've only had nausea once...and that's this week, but I also have a sore throat and such. So I'm thinking it's more of a "bug" than mtx side effects.

My doctor told me that once you go over the 7 tablets, the MTX should be divided into two doses. He said that it is better absorbed and more effective when you take that much. Right now I take 8 tablets, so I take 4 Wednesday mornings, and the other 4 with dinner. Since I haven't had any problems with upsetting my stomach, I can't speak to whether that would be helpful to do this, or not. Maybe you can call your doctor's nurse and ask.

Im ready to start...
