Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
This is very inspiring to me because I graduate in Feb 2014 with bachelor's in Sociology / Social & Criminal Justice. I take courses online and the first three years were very easy but I am recently diagnosed RA and this last year has been extremely tough. I've maintained the Dean's List but with the RA not under good control and the fatigue and confusion I am petrified of staying in school for my Masters. For the first time I am seriously doubting whether I can do it.
So, WAY TO GO!!!! That's awesome! Take that, RA!
I try my best to not let RA define who I am. I figured out what I wanted to do with my life and dammit I am not stopping until I get there.
People think I'm weird that I say "I like school", but school has always been the one constant in my life that I feel like I have control over.
Keep up the good work!
I went back to school because of RA back in 2004 for a career change. Earned B.S. in biology and B.S. in chemistry. Then I started a masters program during my second year as a teacher. Wrapped it up last summer.
I actually consider RA somewhat of a mixed blessing/curse. Without it I probably wouldn't have gone back to college. RA unlocked the possibilities of my gray matter.
Use your RA as motivation!
A huge achievement.
Gentle hugs

way to go

thanks for posting and let us share your happiness.
Ya, take that, RA.
good.
It is very difficult to study when you are in pain. The greatest lesson you learned is you are tougher than the RA. Keep up the good work and keep us all posted. We can all use some good news.
Be well.
My daughters in school I know she works her bum off. I could not imagine doing so with RA.
You deserve to reward yourself & I hope you do, good job sweetie!
