Hi. I've just been to my dr. He thinks I am in remission and is thinking of slowly cutting down and then eventually stopping my medication. I am elated of course and I am just praying this will last. If I could do magic I would make remission one huge cake and give everyone here a slice of it. Unfortunately, I can't so all I can do is give you all a hug and hope you are doing okay today. Thank you all for your well wishes. Reading through your comments suddenly made me start weeping my eyes out. I suddenly felt so guilty for being in remission. I know it's stupid but I felt so sad not being able to share some of relief with those of you who are in alot of pain. I still want to come back here and talk to you all even though I am better because this place has given me so much help and support during those very painful hard times. I hope I can still come back here.

please do not feel guilty - your sharing this has given us hope and encouragement I think we (based on what I'm reading) feel uplifted by this news not saddened! (if you quit posting, then that might be sad :) but this news itself is fabulous)

Caspiana - I haven't left and I've been in remission for over three months.

Even being in remission you can get support from this group. It's like you are standing in a room and there are concentric circles radiating from you - those circles are the impact of RA with work, friends, family, and yes, you. These things don't go away quickly. My office crew still checks with me to make sure the remission is latest this time (it lasted a couple months before). Once I learned about this site, I knew I had a psychological home with a caring family. People around me care, but they really don't know what it is like.

Please stay and keep posting - we would miss you.

Congrats for achieving remission!!!! Can I caution you tho....I don't think we can ever discontinue our DMARDS, RA is not "cured" we are lucky if they put us into remission. I have heard of people discontinuing their meds and then they get the mother of all flares and what they once took doesn't work as well anymore. I hate to be a downer- but I wouldn't want to see that happen to you.
