I wathced my twin grandsons the other day and they both had colds, this am I woke up with stuffed up sinues bad headahce and a chesty cough.
I was told when i started remicdae to go to the dr ASAP if I got a sign of any cold or etc. I do not have a fever, and feel like i don't want to run to the dr right away.
Would like to know if any of you have been told this too? I am due for my 3rd infusion next wed, I have had one at 400 then they lowered the second to 300, due to some side effects, although it has not done muhc, now going ot try the 400 again in hopes of no side effects, but will see how I am feeling.
Due to fly to kansas on nov 1 so need ot have the infusion and all of this stuff gone.

I was told the very same thing.
I do know that the last time I had a cold on remicade, it turned into the cold from He**.

It may be mild, but I would still call my doctor.

I'm not sure about remicade but I had a cold a few weeks ago on MTX and I ate around 8 cloves of boiled garlic for a couple of nights and it went away so quickly. I boiled the garlic for around 10 minutes. I know it sounds so bizarre but just thought i'd share because it worked so well. I've read on the internet that it is a natural antibiotic. I am on Humira and MTX, and I take a garlic supplement every day. Garlic has an antibacterial effect. I also use a sinus wash every morning and drink lots of wate, in an attempt to avoid sinus infections.. I hope this doesn't turn into a bad cold or sinus infection foryou. Please take care, and call the doc if it gets even a little bit worse.

Just had my infusion today. I have a really good Rheumy, if I call and even think I have a URI he will call in antibiotics for me. You are correct, any sign of URI problems contact or see your DR. At the begining of Remicade I had a lot of colds and URI's as I have been on the medication longer I don't seem to have had as many. This year I had the influenza bug in Jan, then a sinus infection in Mar, since then I have done really well. Where are you going in Kansas?? I was stationed at Whidbey Island for 13 years and lived there another 5 after retiring from the Navy. Now we live in Lyons Kansas. Hugs, Charlie
