Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...

When I'm in a flare, I also get dizzy feelings. It's awful, and I've asked my rheumy about it. He told me that it's part of the disease. My body is attacking itself, which causes those flu like symptoms. Prednisone helps when that happens. In fact, I feel relief in about an hour.
I told my husband just today that I'm sick of feeling like I've been in a bar fight every morning when I wake up.... I hurt all over, feel sick, achy, irritated, and hung over. Noise, the tv, anything out of routine in the mornings really throws me.... It takes at least an hour for me to feel okay... but I haven't felt good for a long while now.
My doctor went out of the country for more than a month... put no one in her place, and I've been a terrible flare... the worst in 6 years....
I hopefully start Humira next week. I just feel terrible and sick most of the time... especially in the mornings.
I've also lost my appetite, too. I thought it was just my anti-depressant kicking in hard at the six week mark, but maybe it's not. I have to force myself to remember to eat before I end up with a migraine from not eating. And even when I do eat, it's like a quarter to half the amount I used to....which wasn't huge to begin with.
This disease is so weird.
Lizzy....Same here! No appetite and I get queasy in the morning. It really is amazing at what the human body can do.
Sunvalley...you explained that perfect! Feeling like you were in a bar fight.
I wish I would start some kind of treatment. I finally see my doc Nov 10...after 30 days of antibiotics that are doing zilch!
melly, I hope you start treatment, too!! It takes time to kick in and work good, but at least you have the hope for a light at the end of the tunnel!! I'm still waiting for mine to kick in, but each day seems minutely better. Either I'm experiencing actual improvement, or I'm building up a tolerance....too soon to tell!
