tough one...I lost my front teeth to bone disease....I was sick about it...I but over $5000.00 in my upper mouth to only lose the teeth...Think about it. you have to make the decision...Good luck...

You should not take mtx while you have an infection. Ever.
Also, is the dentist putting in a spacer or what.? If the filling is large, you might be able to save tooth with a crown

Hopefully Tanyan will pipe in here . . . she had problems with her teeth.

Yes I beleive they will still pull it..I had 4 upper molars that were so absessed i was just about banging my head on the wall from the pain..they thought nothing of pulling them..I asked if they could be saved and it was a definate no...so if you go to a specialist take the x-rays with you and have them give you their opinion... Then decide...

The last tooth that I had with problems and infection, I pulled. Mostly I did this because I could pay for a root canal or bridge work.
But partially (and this must be very rare) I did it because my sister had a tooth they tried to save and she ended up with an infection in her jawbone. Dismal thought, I know

I just pull them too because I have very dry mouth from RA and my teeth have cavities no matter how careful I am, and my dentist and I just have the goal of hanging on to the front ones and putting stainless steel caps on the rest, as soon as its needed. I have one molar on the bottom left still intact, and all my top ones, although I was only born or grew three on each side.

I know I always go on about alternative methods, but you could try oil pulling, you can google how much it helps people with dental issues if are interested. I save a lot of money swishing oil in my mouth lol.
