I lost two primary care physicians within six months. I promise you it was not my fault! One left to become president of the AMA and another left his practice suddenly without explanation. Since the 2nd PC had all my records, I started with another PC physican in the same practice. By this time, I'd been receving physical therapy for alleged tendonitis in the Achilles tendon. Then, I broke the ankle in the same leg,,,back and forth to PC doc and orthopedist with increasing debilitating fatigue and migrating pains. I had two appointments with the PC guy and since I was new to him, I guess he thought I was a malingerer and he brushed me off. Finally, after many Xrays, the ortho guy referred me back to the PC physician. Before my third appt. in six months, I wrote a polite, professional letter to this doctor and told him that i felt he was not being thorough enough and that I knew there was something wrong and that It was not all in my head, as he had implied.Well, he actually came close to apologizing to me; sent me to a rheumatologist and when the diagnosis was confirmed, DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE THIRD APPOIMENT! The moral of this story is don't give up.
