I'm holding my breath tonight as I am getting blood tests done tomorrow for RA.
I know there are no results yet and I haven't been diagnosed.
But I have been having such a hard week. Both emotionally and physically.
I put off the testing for a while, things seemed to get better.The stiffness, burning went away.
And now here I am, fingers so stiff I'm amazed I can type, I can barely walk because my knees feel so swollen and tender. I really don't want to believe this.
I was diagnosed with MS as of 2010, another diagnosis on top of that I really DON'T want to hear. I talked to my neuro and he is saying, joint pain is not a symptom of MS you need to call your PCP.
I feel like my typing is all scattered right now. Apologies. I don't know what to think, I'm almost panicked. I'm scared. I hate to think the way I do..I'm scared I won't be able to walk.
All I can do is wait for the results, I'm holding back tears Ive never been in so much pain I feel useless.
I hear its quite common to have RA coupled with MS and I'm really sorry everyone, for being quite well, I feel like a pity party right now. I jsut can't help it, I want to cry, I want to ask god why.
Is anyone going through this same thing? I know I'm not the only one, but it feels so lonely sometimes :/

to feed off each other. Don't lose hope. There are so many drug combinations and one may be the right one for you. If not, there are more in the pipeline. A good rheumy is imperative so I hope you have one.

you have good support here, and can vent as much as you need.
You will go through all the grieving steps, so allow yourself this time to grieve the old you. getting a counselor who specializes in pain or diseases is very helpful.
and the positive thing if RA, you will be put on meds that can help you. and you will feeling better. You can stop and control this disease and be in charge of it.
You will have a lot of bad and good days, so just take it Day by Day

I have spinal problems & nerve pain. I could not imagine having MS with concerns of RA.
I feel the same. Went in for my first appointment due to swelling & honestly did not expect RA so when the doctor called with the results I was kind of shocked.
Go a head & cry if you want to. I did last night. Sat there & cried like a baby & I did ask god why?
Today I'm still upset but I know I will do what needs to be done & so will you. There are options that where not there years ago so that's something.
I have to keep telling myself it could be worse & I know others have it worse.
Still I know there are more tough days a head & more tears to come. We'll get through it & hold each others hand if need be.
Just know your not alone.

I was in a full flare the second time I saw her and she started me on Sulfasalazine. That was in May. Even if they cannot definitively diagnose yet, they can start treatment. Many of the same drugs are used to treat different AI conditions.
It is not uncommon for there to be an overlap of autoimmune conditions, since the body has targeted itself.
Please don't lose hope.
