I noticed a lot of us have pets. So I thought it would be fun to find out who our pets are and what they do to comfort us through this disease. My pet is a mackerel tabby cat-Stellaluna. She is long and skinny and 9 months old and I love the way she stretches all the time. Reminds me to do mine, which helps loosening my joints.

Here's to our furry four legged friends and the support they give unconditionally.

Great thread! I made a post about this on my site awhile back... my fingers don't want to work anymore tonight, so here's the story if you would like to read it. It's about how my dog has come to be very helpful as an assistance dog, without really realizing we'd even trained him for it. He's helped out a lot more since the post, but here it is:

I have enjoyed reading about everyones pets, they all sound amazing and makes me want to meet them all.
We have 1 HUGE black cat named Buttercup, she is 11 years.old and we got her from the Humane Society 9 years ago. She isn't fond of being held, but she does like to come up to our Cretans rub against them and purr, when she's in the right mood. She also really lobes to play with string and would do so for hours if we let her. She is a great cat and gets along with our 2 dogs very well, except when they get too playful and then she will let them know.
Lilly is our 2 year old shih-tzu...she is a sweet and funny dog. She loves to sleep at the foot of our bed and keeps my feet warm at nite. She minds very well and sits fine outside with us without being on a leash. She loves short walks, but after about 10 minutes she will just lay in the grass and refuse to go any further.
Chumlee is our 9 month old chorkie. We only really wanted 1 dog, but when we noticed someone was selling a chorkie we had to have
one, as we.lost our beloved Shiloh 3 years ago due to heart failure, who was also a chorkie and we said if we ever ran across another one we would have to have him or her. Anyhow we are so glad now that we got him. He is our comedian dog, when he barks he howls and no matter how often he does it we always laugh. He is full of energy but also the cuddliest of any of our pets.
They all have their own unique personalities and bring us so much joy and laughter and I love how well they have all bonded together.Pets truly make a house a home.

I have a wonderful mutt dog called Dawggy. He is my constant companion. When I was in the ICU last year my Dr. even wrote a prescription for him to come and visit me. Dawggy helps me by making it hard to not go out and walk. He looks forward to his morning and evening walks. On days when this is just too much we go to the dog park. I sit and he socializes. : )
Love my Dawggy pets are the best!
