I've been on disability for 10 years. In a moment of madness about 2 years ago, I went back to the teacher's union, and talked about retraining to do a sitting job, and less hours. They told me don't be ridiculous, you could never commit to teaching with your illnesses. So I stopped feeling guilty. Little did I know that in the next month I would get surgery that would make my foot worse, I would lose my voice, and have 3 major med changes.
I hope you can qualify soon. It is bad enough having RA, let alone worrying about finances.
