I have a new pain! My knees are starting to hurt in the morning. Both. It seems to have started with the change in weather. It's been getting colder now. I mentioned it once to my husband about the cold making me hurt a little more in the morning and got a "umph" noise. Like it's some crazy myth the cold makes arthritis worse.
I went out to feed the horses this morning and one has diarrhea so one muck bucket was heavy! VERY HEAVY! Imagine all the liquid with it. So I struggled to pick it up and toss it over the lip of the dumpster, It killed my hands and it hurt my feet due to the extra weight.
Then I had to life a 50 lb bag of feed and slop into a trash can. Ugh.
I would call all this "doing way too much" Now I'm paying for it. My husband called me while I was out there and says, "You sound out of breathe" DUH! I haven't been out of breath in years!
Just venting. I have to admit support is important. You're all the only ones that "get it"

I have not noticed any difference with the weather changes but I live in Alabama and we haven't had any cold weather yet..

That says the majority of RA patients report more pain during the cold but it is still unproven clinically. You might be interested in knowing you are not alone in this.
My thoughts are with you, Mell. It sucks and I hope it passes soon for you.
P.S. Have you tried any of those fleece lined leggings. They seem to help my hips and knees by holding the warmth in. Something to thing about. Also, you may want to start thinking of alternative ways to deal with the mucking of the crew. Use your imagination to come up with a new way of doing it and protect your body. I don't want to see you "paying for it" afterwards.

Now it is a good day if I can just walk out to the barn without a cane or walker.....
The whole horse care is pretty much up to me. During daylight savings my DD does it on the weekends and the nights she does not go to school. Time will change Nov 1 and I'll be doing it Monday through Friday AM & PM.
I am soooo going to buy warm stuff for the mornings outside. Time for the thrift store! Those horse chore clothes can get pretty stinky!
Coaltrain....I think the perks of it all are those warm furry beasts! I think only horse owners know the whole idea of "if you have horses, you never will ever need a therapist" My DD and husband hate being out there cleaning stalls but to me...that is such a peaceful time and such a lovely commune with the furry one's. Even the crazy antics of my pygmy goats being a smile to my face.
