I used to love it when my cousins called my great aunt GG....but that was a great-grandma........I didn't think of that till after I started typing....sorry I'm not much help!!!

Congrats Jane it's very exciting for you all. I'm nana to all my grandkids except the oldest who has always called me narnar. She was 8 months old when she came up with that and is now 14 and still calls me that. I have grand baby number 12 due on my birthday in july. This is our last one. My hubby is Pa and my Dad was big pa.

My husband and his brother's always called their grandma's "Gram". I thought that was kinda nice - I'd never heard it before, but I was raised in WV and they are from upstate NY. It's probably a common thing up there. Congratulations!

My grandsons call me Nahnie. My oldest pronounced grammy as nahnie when he was little and it stuck. I love it!

Congratulations! I have nothing to add above other's suggestions, but see what the little one can pronounce. My mom was "grandma" but my daughter couldn't say that yet - so she called her "Bamma"! lol

BTW, you ladies are awfully YOUNG to have grandbabies!!!

We're Nanna and Pa, my best friend is Gram or grammy, my sister
decided on Malee which is what we called our grandmother. As others have said, often little ones change it themselves.

Enjoy your grandbaby - I love being a Nanna - enjoyment without being on duty 24/7 as a Mum.

In our Chinese custom, the grandchildren from the son will call the grandma "Ah Ma" and the grandpa "Ah Kong". The daughters chidren will call " Gua Ma " and "Gua Kong". But now a days they do not differentiate it anymore. It's just Ah Ma and Ah Kong !!

Anyway I agree with Lora that you gals are too young to be grandma ! I hope when I become grandma I will look as good as you ladies ...

Congratulations ! I have 8 grandkids ,1 greatgrandson & a greatniece thats like a grandkid.Mostly I'm granma,sometimes they slip up & I,m mommy.The 15 yr. old & the 10 yr. old, I think,change what they call me every time they see me to see if I'm paying attention. Whatever they call me,I love ! You are SO gonna love being a grandma !! 3 of the grandkids had to start calling us grandma & grandpa when they started school,school rules.Soon as they could it was back to whatever was their favorite ,at the time. Enjoy your new little one as much as possible.They grow so fast & won't sit on your lap,& some get so big you wish they wouldn't !

You are sooooooooooooo lucky! Can't wait until that day comes for me but I think it will be awhile yet. I think I want to be called Gran or if I'm terribly old by that point - granny- like from the Beverly Hillbilly's.

My kids call their grandmother (my mother) Nana - she always wanted to be called Grammy - but the oldest just couldn't get the hang of that word - so we tried Nana - and it stuck LOL!! and my father is their Papa.

We don't have grandchildren, but my husband is from Canada so he will be Pepere, and he wants me to be Memere - Hmmm, I'm still on the fence on that one!!!
